Prayer Concerns and Needs:
My name is Melanie King and I live In Jackson (Amador County)
and Maryal called and asked if I would send some prayer request
for our county. I called my Pastors which are Pastor Jay and
Patty Donnelly from New Life Christian Center in Sutter Creek.
And these are the things we believe God put on our hearts:
Wisdom for all the building in Amador and wisdom for the water
in the county. Superintendent has stepped down because of health
so that God would put in office his choice.
Unity for all pastors in Amador county and communication between
them all.
Spiritual Transformation or our Schools and for the teenagers in
Amador.
Hear the Call of God: Pray that people would get out of their
absorption of self and step up to the work God has called us all
too. Pray He would give them eyes to see and ears to hear what
He is saying to His Church in this hour.
A Heart for the lost: Pray God would give stir up a burden and
passion to reach out to the lost, hurting, and broken who need
His Grace and Mercy! (Added by Director)
Thank you for praying for our county.
History:
Amador County was created in 1854 from parts of Calaveras and El
Dorado Counties. In 1864, part of the county's territory was
given to Alpine County.
The county is named for Jose Maria Amador, soldier, rancher and
miner, who was born in San Francisco in 1794, the son of
Sergeant Pedro Amador, a Spanish soldier who settled in
California in 1771. In 1848, Jose Maria Amador, with several
Native Americans, established a successful gold mining camp near
the present town of Amador. In Spanish, the word "amador" means
"one who loves."
