Shasta County is the economic, cultural, and geographical center of the northern section of the State of California. The City of Redding is the county seat for Shasta County. Redding is the county's largest city with a population of around 100,000. The cities of Anderson and Cottonwood are located directly to the south of the City of Redding. The newly incorporated City of Shasta Lake is located directly to the north. Shasta County is home to some of the most egregious clashes between white and native peoples resulting in many thousands of casualties in the 19th century and a legacy of bitterness in our own time.

The topography ranges from the flat valley area in and around the City of Redding, which is about 300 to 500 feet above sea level to Mt. Lassen that reaches to the peak of 10,455 feet above sea level.

Shasta County has the unique distinction of having three different mountain ranges flow into the county. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are located in the eastern section of the county, while the Cascade Mountain range is in the north county and the Coastal Mountain range is located in the western county. Most visitors find it striking that one can view the snow-capped Trinity Alps, Mount Shasta and Mt. Lassen from almost any location in and around the general Redding area.

Unemployment has been cut by one third in the past three years. Shasta County is home to such innovative ministries as Faith WORKS- which cut welfare rolls by half in partnership with county government; twenty-one of our schools are prayer-walked each year with permission of administration and have shown remarkable improvement in test scores and student well-being overall. We are host to a large number of recovery ministries that show 400% better recovery rates (from substance abuse) than do secular counterparts. We are home to ministries of healing that have recorded literally thousands of miracle healings and we work closely with the medical community as well. Cancer admissions to hospitals and traffic fatalities were reduced by more than twenty per cent during recent coordinated projects of prayer. Our prayer template over the county is Matthew 11:2-6.

1) The Unity in the Church would continue and increase, pastors and intercessors from many churches working together, interdenominational prayer meetings would continue and increase. Continued healings of body, soul, and spirit for the many in need of healing in the mountain areas.

2) The Tyranny of Abuse would be broken: especially sexual abuse, domestic violence and spiritual abuse. The Church would not be afraid to confront these things in the natural and in the spiritual and would take their place alongside the broken for justice in these areas.

3) Reconciliation between the Church and the First Nations people would continue and there would be a great Harvest as a result.

4) Repentance to go deeper: The repentance for all sin done by all people through the ages here would begin in the Church and create an atmosphere for a great Revival in the Mountain Regions.

5) A Breaking of Generational Poverty: There would be a breakthrough for many and a setting free of generational poverty.

7) Call forth Righteousness in the Justice System: Righteous judges, police departments, sheriff and other justice workers would rise up in the mountain areas and true justice would be restored.

8) Continued Prayer mobilization in all the cities

9) Blessing upon the all industry and commerce for the fear of God to attend the tourism industry and for godly leaders in governmental offices.

10) Revival for the Churches and a Spiritual Awakening to Christ in the cities.

11) Decrease in unemployment and the creation of new jobs. Pray for a release of entrepreneurial energy that leads to the creation of new businesses that are sustainable

12) Pray for Christian marriages to be a witness of life in Christ. Pray for marriage to be affirmed and protected in this Counties’ Cities.

13) Passion for Prayer: Pray God will rise up prayer leaders in these counties.

14) Pray for God to break the power of witchcraft/occultism: Ask God to break the strongholds of occultism/witchcraft through a revelation of His love & salvation to those involved in occult practices, witchcraft, new age movement.
